Drilling Oil Well Equipment Manufacturer

Drilling Equipment Manufacturer
DTH Rock Drilling Equipment

Our Company Bulroc UK Ltd has been involved in the design and manufacture of Percussive Down Hole Rock Drilling equipment for almost 40 years. The first Bulroc Down hole Hammer was introduced in 1976 and with its success, other sizes and models were gradually developed so that within the space of a few years, Bulroc were producing a range of valved and valveless hammers for drilling hole sizes ranging from 60mm through to 250mm diameter. As Down Hole Hammer development continued, so did a range of complementary products including Shock Absorbers, Drill Tubes and Fishing Tools etc.

Early in 1984, the company made a significant investment in plant and equipment necessary for the design and manufacture of a range of Button Bits to suit not only Bulroc Hammers but also all other makes of popular DTH Hammers. At around this time, Bulroc developed the world’s first Reverse Circulation or Centre Sampling Hammer for the Mineral Exploration industry, a system that has now become widely accepted, particularly for gold exploration.

Continuing developments resulted in the introduction of the Hyper range of Hammers, replacing the original valveless design. Larger sizes of HYPER Hammers were developed along with a comprehensive range of Continuous Casing Systems for all types of Overburden Drilling applications so that currently, Bulroc produce DTH equipment capable of drilling holes up to 1100mm diameter. Bulroc products are produced in a modern factory located in the heart of England some 250 Km north of London and employs the latest computer technology in its design and manufacturing facilities.

Bulroc UK Ltd has a policy of continuous product development aimed at improving the existing product range whilst at the same time, introducing new products to increase and extend the already wide applications for Down Hole Percussive Rock Drilling.

For every task there is proper machinery to be used carefully.

Drilling a well for Gas, oil or water can be done in 5 steps

Step 1 – Prospecting — (Bulroc Geologist = Scientist)

“Prospecting” is the process the Bulroc geologist goes through to locate places to drill a well.
Once the Bulroc geologists finds the correct spot, he spends much time cross-checking to ensure that he has not missed anything. He wants to make sure that his every detail matches his data.

Step 2 – Packaging — (Geologist = Artist/Designer)

The Bulroc geologist has huge amounts of data available that Bulroc has used to define and select their prospect. Now, the Bulroc must condense this data into a set of presentation materials that can be shown to non-geologists in the oil / gas/ water business etc; these people may include managers, investors, bankers, engineers, or others who will help to approve and get financing for the drilling deal.

Step 3 – Choosing the correct Equipment — (Geologist = Supervisor)

When selecting the equipment for the project, first need to identify the environment and surroundings. It can be in water or bare land. Latest technology helps the project managers to function efficiently as the technology permits the Geologists as well as Engineers to take decisions and to progress with the project.

Step 4 – Drilling — (Geologist = Supervisor)

Next comes the part that every geologist enjoys the most! Drilling the well with Bulroc Equipment! It has now been several months since the geologist started working on his idea…which then became his prospect. Now the surface owners have been paid, permits acquired, the money raised, roads and drilling location built, pipe and supplies ordered, and the company has engaged the Bulroc as the drilling contractor who owns the drilling rig, and will drill the well in the manner specified. The contractor will often select the type of drill bits to be used that his experience tells him will work best, hire a crew, and make other decisions concerning the drilling.
Drilling a well is a very multifaceted procedure involving many people where nearly everything must go right, and there is no room for error. Dangerous and powerful machinery, bad weather, and mechanical failures must be faced daily. The work goes on for weeks to months, 24 hours a day, nonstop. A slip-up at any point can ruin the expensive hole, cost a fortune, get people killed, or all three.

Step 5 – Completion — (Geologist = Advisor)

The job of completing the well is mainly in the hands of the Bulroc engineer. He will decide what type of casing to run, what type and method of cementing will be used, and design and implement the completion procedure itself. The Bulroc geologist is usually the person most familiar with the area and the practices of other oil companies. He may suggest a certain style or method of hole, or offer advice on cementing techniques. He may be familiar with the most successful fracturing or breakdown procedures in the area. He will relay this information to the petroleum engineer, who will usually be thankful for the help! Working as a team, the geologist and petroleum engineer will get the well completed and put it to work making money for the company.
